Block Menu

Block Menu originated from Block House. Eugen Block, who started his first steakhouse in 1968, invented a method by means of which cooking in the hotel and catering industry was simplified considerably, without compromising on the taste or nutritional value. He set about developing Frischware im Aromapack, or convenience food. Although the term does evoke associations with bland tasting mashed potato or very salty gravy, the opposite is true. Block Menu supplies convenience food which is even served in five-star hotels.

Block Menu = authentic

It will be clear: taste is the highest priority at Block Menu. The taste of the past, to be exact. This means that in the Block Menu kitchens the cooking is traditional, then the products are packed in an innovative way. For instance, the veal stock is made the way grandmother used to make it, using real veal shank and vegetables, with no unnatural additives. The products are then frozen individually (IQF) so the quality, taste, aroma and nutritional value are retained completely.

Block Menu = efficient

The portion packs by Block Menu – ranging from sauces, side dishes and soups to desserts and complete main meals – only have to be defrosted au Bain Marie. They can also be seasoned according to the buyer’s own taste. With the products by Block Menu, the buyers of meat supplier Foodproducts have a tremendous efficiency advantage in the kitchen. This is exactly what Eugen Block had in mind when he developed Block Menu: he sees Block Menu as a kitchen partner who supports restaurant owners and chefs in their daily activities. This therefore allows them the time and scope to create surprising and especially tasty dishes.
